Once NOVAK had mastered the technical complexities of the projection surface, attention turned to the creative concept. Taking inspiration from the festival’s theme of Make Your Own Island, they developed a series of cinematic scenes that reflected both the history of Jersey and the iconic TV programs scored by the Radiophonic Workshop. These visuals explored fantasy landscapes, historical narratives, and the legacy of the fort itself, intertwining reality with imagination.
Throughout the process, NOVAK collaborated closely with the Radiophonic Workshop, allowing the visuals and soundtrack to evolve in harmony. The result was an epic and otherworldly experience, where the bold, immersive animations blended seamlessly with the Radiophonic Workshop’s sonic brilliance. When combined with the technical expertise of QED, the performance became a projection mapping spectacle unlike any other, wowing the crowds that lined the Jersey coastline to witness this breathtaking event.
